About this Blog

As the awe-inspiring Julia Child said “find something you’re passionate about and keep tremendously interested in it.” She also said “I think every woman needs a blowtorch,” but that is beside the point.
I have found passion: hosting and food (preparing it, studying it, eating it and even photographing it!). Luckily for moi hosting and food go hand-in-hand. Hosting to me can mean so much: throwing a party, organizing someone else’s event, picking the right venue, selecting an appropriate menu, choosing the perfect restaurant, but above all, bringing those you love together. Food; well, it means everything to me. It’s an unspoken language that can warm a soul and an empty stomach all at once. Combine people you love and food together, and you’ve got a recipe for happiness. As one of my culinary idols Ina Garten said “you can be miserable before you have a cookie and you can be miserable after you eat a cookie but you can’t be miserable while you are eating a cookie.”
For the last ten years, I have continually hosted parties at my house, helped friends plan their events, recommended recipes, provided entertaining tips, and organized countless and I mean countless brunches, lunches and dinners! So whether it’s a cocktail party, birthday dinner, bridal or baby shower or bachelorette party, I’ve done it all.

While I draw inspiration from a variety of people & places, I admittedly have an almost fanatical-like partiality to Anthony Bourdain & Ina Garten. I love them both!
This blog should serve as a guide to you for planning and hosting events! I want to share my tips, trials, tribulations and great finds, through my passion for food and entertaining.
~Always keep it simple in an eventful manner.
Your perpetual host,
Sofia
